  • tomzooi, We highly recommend taking some Java, and Android Studio basic classes before using the MetaWear. Google provides amazing documentation here: https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
  • Samir, Can you send us a snapshot of the error you are seeing?
  • Which api are you using, ios or android? Can you send us some code snippets?
  • Samir,Devices can use Wifi without a SIM card to send out messages.  The SOSTrigger example/use-case requires a SIM card.
  • Do you have any more details like part numbers?
  • One more thing, our next boards (like the MetaSensors and MetaWearR+gyro) will have a really accurate thermistor built in to them and won't use the internal less accurate sensor.

  • I don't think your board is faulty. Your are seeing this because the board is using the internal temperature sensor of the MCU which is likely just running hot since Bluetooth is on. If you want really accurate temperature try using this thermistor:…

  • Helene can you give us a circuit diagram? How are you hooking up the air pump?
  • When you build the project in XCODE, then you can precise which iOS version to optimize for at compile time.Have you had any more luck testing?  I tried again today with the same setup and I have no issues at all.
  • A good place to start: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/accelerometer-basics
  • Quick answers: * For scale, does -2/+2 mean less sensitive movement measurements than -8/+8? This scale means that the accelerometer is either measuring a max/min value of 2Gs, 4Gs, or 8Gs. Which is a unit of force, see more information here: http:/…
  • joey,It worked fine for me. The App crashed once but worked flawlessly after that with all the notification triggers I set up. Maybe you can send me more information about whats happening for you? I'm on iOS 8.2. I am on firmware 1.0.1. My trigge…
  • joey,I will go ahead and play with iOS8.2 right now and report back. A few things: 1. Did you follow the troubleshooting steps here: www.mbientlab.com/gettingstarted? 2. Did you update the ANCS App code to work with iOS 8.2 when you got the code …
  • ANCS is iOS only. It does not work with Android (It is the Apple Notification Center).I tried it using iOS 8.1 and 8.2 and it was fine for me. The trick is to try different triggers. Once it gets going then it will work consequently. Let me know h…
  • laurenell, One more thing, did you update to the latest firmware release? Can you test your triggers by leaving the App in the foreground (don't close the App). Let me know how that goes.  I just tested it on my phone and setup a trigger f…
  • siddrajput, With the ADDR_SEL pin you can just tie it low or high depending on what you want the address of your sensor I2C device to be (It doesn't have to go to a MetaWear pin). You should read the manual for the device you are using but it will…

  • Lauren, Which triggers did you use and test?
  • jmacgill Yes you are unlucky! That's ok maybe you will have good karma somewhere else to compensate. It is more likely that the battery was exposed during transportation/shipping/handling.
  • Lauren,Do you know which MetaWear firmware version you are on and what type of phone you are using? What you are describing should work just fine. I would suggest to clear all your old notifications and test with something different like a text me…
  • Did you set up an ANCS trigger? If so, can you tell me what kind of trigger you set up and maybe share some screenshots? I would like more details so I can help you debug.
  • Jonas, By default Bluetooth is setup to be always connectable. Think about what would happen if you have one Bluetooth accessory only accessible to iPhoneX and then you lost iPhoneX. How would you then connect that "locked" accessory with your new…
  • jmacgill,Battery failures are about 1 in a million and there is no way to avoid them. Because it is a chemical system it is bound to fail occasionally; especially when rough-handled or exposed to extreme stress and conditions. You can buy new/repla…

  • Awesome tutorial: http://pcbheaven.com/wikipages/How_RC_Servos_Works/Just make sure you have a proper power source for the motor.
  • Did you guys check-out http://docs.mbientlab.com. Eric posted youtube videos on getting started with Android Studio.
  • asobol22,You program the MetaWear board with an App. You can send the board permanent or temporary commands. This means you do not need to write a single line of firmware code and you probably don't need to do anything on the hardware side. Try to …
  • Let me know how it goes, if it's an issue or bug we will fix it in the next firmware release.
  • bdemers,I don't think you are doing anything wrong at all. It could be that you need to sniff the Beacon in the reverse byte order of the UUID you used. Is there a generic beacon sniffer App you can use that doesn't look for a specific UUID?
  • Thank you igor_filippov for helping us fix a bug!
