The new iOS App version 1.1 fixes this problem. We have seen no issues with Android Apps. If your board is stuck in MetaBoot mode follow these steps: 1. Download Nordic Toolbox App from the App Store. 2. Download the latest MetaWear firmwa…

Hey paul,Can you email me at hello@mbientlab.com? I want you to try to use the Nordic App to update the MetaWear board using a specific firmware file I will send you via email.
-
Can you try to restart the iOS or Android App? Basically reinstall the App and see if MetaBoot or MetaWear is showing up. Sometimes the App will successfully update the board. The board will get out of MetaBoot but the App will be showing something …

How to check that your device is working: 1. Use our MetaWear iOS or Android App available on the Google Play and Apple App stores to test your device. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/metawear/id920878581?mt=8 https://play.google.com/store/ap…

Claude, It is stuck in the approval stage by Apple. It should be available and updated in the App store in about 2 days.

leighmon, We don't have a ranging method in the MetaWear SDK but I can image there is lots of open code for this available with some simple Googling: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20416218/understanding-ibeacon-distancing http://blog.geomo…

dhruvvarde, You might want to check out the Neopixel module.
-
It's already supported using the standard Battery service (check the API documentation for Android and iOS). We don't monitor the charge but we do monitor the battery voltage.
-
You should look at the IR based solutions out there (Google it!)
-
I'm doing some hacks today and I will post at www.projects.mbientlab.com

Eberson,I think a fingerprint module requires a fair amount of computation that you would need a computer for. I think you should take a look at the Edison from Intel and this module here: http://www.adafruit.com/product/751 (it comes with Windows c…

Eric,I made this category for you.

Awesome stuff Eric!

elihar, you can check out the changes: https://github.com/mbientlab

You can store 10,000 entries up to 4 bytes long on the MetaWear.
-
It can take up to 60 seconds to return to the MetaWear mode from MetaBoot. Basically just let your board chill for a while, grab a beer or soda...then you can connect to your MetaWear again!
-
Bluetooth can't handle wireless data transfer speeds required for audio. So although you can hook up a microphone and speaker on the board there is nothing you can do with it at all; at least it wouldn't really be functional. If you write your own f…

Yes it is. This is part of the Logging Module functionality of the iOS and Android API. Check the documentations for how to do it and we will try to publish some example code/projects for this.
-
I like the idea ursanju, what are you looking for specifically?
-
Celfa,I don't have good news here. The problem with I2C is that it's extremely difficult to turn it into something you can use on the iOS side. We are definitely having some issues with this dev.
-
You are attempting to build for the simulator or for a device older than an iPhone 4S; this means you are trying to compile for something that does not support Bluetooth. Please try to compile your project for a new Device (NOT THE SIMULATOR OR AN…

It takes up to 60 seconds for MetaWear to return from MetaBoot mode depending on how large the new firmware file was. Just wait patiently and all will be well again!
-
@bmp, my recommendation is to experiment with your setup. Everyone will get different product lifetimes!
-
@Ideluca,Yes the LED will halve the battery life very quickly since it's an ultra-bright LED (with a lot of current demand). You can always power your board with a much larger lithium battery since they are all standard, take a look at this website…

@tobynextdoor: Use bonding if you need security.
-
We are still a little shorthanded but I am working on it as fast as possible.

@allanjohns92. It is not a limitation of Metawear; it is the BLE 4.0 spec.First of all you wrote 1 Mbps (1000000bps) which is bits per second and I wrote 5KBps (5000*8bps) which is kilobytes per second. Second think about the overhead of packets ver…
