@sonalideo, I don't think this feature is available in the latest Android SDK yet, I will add it as a feature request.
-
@propan, Here is some data from our projects that you might like to take a look at. As Matt mentioned we generally discard or "smooth out" the data gathered during the BLE transmissions:
-
stu68, We are working on it! It should be available soon.
-
@aaronmby!!! Sweet! I finally got a chance to check it out! We will post it on our social channels!
-
@jrood, sweet!!! Can't wait to see your new implementation! Keep us updated.
-
matthew, This is a good idea, can you file this in the feature request section? Thanks!
-
siddrajput, As Eric said we have API calls to change the name of the device (in the advertising packet); just take a look at the documentation.

BLE streaming/connections depletes the battery. You could set up the necklace to wake up on motion events to conserve battery. Freefall motion detected -> wake up -> stream BLE -> go back to sleep

The end product will have to be properly labeled with your FCC ID and might also need to contain the FCC ID of the Taiyo Tuden module (please check with your local TCB lab who will give you all the legal details as they are the proper authority on t…

FCC/IC/CE/VCCI services - FCC Part 15B/ICES-003 and VCCI Class B testing and report with DoV/AoC · Radiated emission below 1GHz (FCC/VCCI) · Radiated emission 1GHz-6GHz (VCCI) · Radiated emission 1GHz-13GHz (FCC)…

Phil, Basically you will need to apply for an FCC ID and certify the end product for un-intentional radiation by a TCB lab. The government has a list of TCB labs online that you can search, I just find one that is near me and call them as they wil…
-
Phil, Are you making an end product? Something with a case and packaging? Can you tell me a little bit more about your product and I can tell you how to sell it legally.
-
caleb, You can use our API to increase the gain on the antenna. Our antenna supports up to 2dbm; the default is 0dbm.
-
caleb, You need some pretty nifty equipment normally but for our purposes we use the sniffer dongle from Nordic to test signal strength of our boards. What sort of tests are you running?
-
fblais, Are you sure other devices aren't connected to it? We've noticed persistent connection with the latest iPhones/iOS release that make it seem that the device is not advertising when it fact it is already connected. Make sure to turn off…
-
calebwong, You might want to cover the board in hot glue or epoxy if you take it into an outdoor setting. It could be something as simple as shorting components or a lose battery wire and securing the board will make a big difference. Also you…

physiowear,If you tried everything and you believe that it still doesn't work, we will replace your MetaWear free of charge (pending that there are no defect or damage done to your board). Send me an email at hello@mbientlab.com and I will take car…

yoavac, We saw a lot of issues with screen connectivity from a lot of users (you have to add a larger battery, extra boost and protection circuitry, custom firmware for drivers...). We are not going to support screens at this time.
-
sonalideo, We do offer extra FLASH as a service if you are interested. You can also use the filters and data processor to log optimally; logging the raw data is not optimal.
-
We do have an option for extended NOR FLASH memory on the board but it doesn't come standard on the dev boards. We could make it available as a standard board feature, maybe a MetaWearRSUPER next year if there is enough demand for it.

Hey sonalideo, If you constantly stream raw accelerometer data at a fast rate the battery can die in a few hours. At 10Hz, it will die after a few days (this is normal). A few options: 1) Replace the 100mAh battery with a larger battery such …

alphacoder, Please familiarize yourself with sensor technology and let us know if we can help with our services: www.mbientlab.com/services. Thanks -Laura

Hey chriscc, You can already get a debugger/programmer from Nordic and interface it to the MetaWear debug/programming pings and use MBED to program your MetaWear. I just need to do a quick tutorial on the setup so folks can get started. B…

A general note for those still looking into battery life: A firmware fix to an issue in one of the device drivers has significantly improved the idle/standby current consumption. This was released in early 2015, so any firmware you are running now…

Yes, bigger battery = longer charge time. With a 300mAh battery, the charge time will be around 3 hours to 80% and 6 hours to 100% charge. The battery charger supports lithium ion and lithium polymer type batteries, of the "1C" aka single cell va…

Awesome news, I also just made a few programming tutorial videos (which includes this tidbit of information) on the www.mbientlab.com/gettingstarted page.

You can also add your own thermistor in the MetaWear R if you want: http://projects.mbientlab.com/metawear-and-thermistor/
-
Ok it has been updated!!! Check the new docs.

Ok I did this really quick but it should work: POT - MW W - LED is hooked up with series res and then to ground VDD - 3V (pin 7 or pin 11) GND - GND (pin 4 or pin 3) SCL - I2C (SCL pin 6) A - 3V (pin 7 or pin 11) B - GND (pin 4 or pi…

I am adding the LED information to the Product guide: www.mbientlab.com/gettingstarted.It will be there by the end of the week.
